DNA Day: Case Western Reserve and CMSD Students Celebrate the Key Molecule of Life

Cleveland Metropolitan School District students at James Ford Rhodes High School, Promise Academy, and John Hay High School celebrated DNA Day, a commemoration of the discovery of DNA's double helix and the successful completion of the Human Genome Project. The highlight of the day was students' hands-on experiment extracting the DNA of strawberries using household products.

Case Western Reserve School of Medicine has lost one of its leading lights, Fritz Rottman, PhD. In 18 years as professor and chair of molecular biology and microbiology, Dr. Rottman left an indelible imprint on the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.
